Colors are Not as Vibrant as the PhotosAug 14, 2011
By K. Groh My daughter picked these out because they seemed to be bright and very colorful - they are supposed to be butterfly colors. They are fun but not as bright as they appear in the pictures. Specifically, the green/teal is much more subdued instead of vibrant.
The set also states that it comes with 2 display rings which are probably just rubber washers, but there was nothing like that included in our package.
A fun set with 24 smaller marbles and one shooter.

An excellent example of a "fancy marble"Jan 22, 2011
By Allen Smalling
"Constant Reader,"
These marbles, named 'Butterfly,' are described by the manufacturer as "tri-color opaque swirl marbles using beautiful colors - two coordinating shades of pastel green and cyan, with a contrasting black." I quite agree. This kind of fancy marble is indispensable to the game of marbles, where the more varities of marble, the more rewarding the game play. So while you're going for variety, why not have some of the most beautiful? (In fact, I like the design of this marble so well that I keep a glass jar with them on the mantel just for show, in lieu of decorator chips or beads.)
This set contains four playing marbles or "mibs" of 5/8" diameter (16mm) and one shooter marble one inch in diameter (25mm). This isn't enough to set up a child for competitive marble play, but it's a start or a nice boost to a pre-existing collection. I do find it a little disconcerting that an item less than half a pound in shipping weight occasions an S&H charge of over four dollars. There are many other colors and varieties of marbles, also assortments, offered by Amazon too. .
