Marbles in the stores are just so cheap and plain nowadays so I was pleased to find these, which are like what I remembered playing with when I was a kid. These are high quality marbles and all are nicely colored throughout the piece. These are authentic marbles! We use them in regular marble games, number games, for trading etc. We use tape for the games so don't bother getting the floor mats! Play the old fashioned way and have fun! It's great to teach my child something that seems to have been forgotten as one of the most fun games (with variety too) that you can get at a low price. There are NO batteries or sounds (other than laughter or aw's), requires initial learning then to more strategy and skills as they learn to play. Little hands find them hard to use so at first we used other methods of shooting them, allowing full hand contact but same rules. We use them for not only shooting games but others like counting games as well so they are educational in the variety of games you can play or even make up. You are only limited by your imagination and we've played other games like Tic Tac Toe too. I purchased several varieties like these, same brand, and we love them and our kid is now an official collector of fine marbles and won't even look at those cheap ones from local stores. I haven't found others who like to play but we are happy to share. The price is reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend!
