4My son loves it!Jan 01, 2008
By Cyncos
My son received this for Christmas and loves it. It's recommended for ages 3 & up but he is only 19 months and can easily match up the pieces since there is a picture of the matching piece underneath. It would be great if the pieces could stay attached with tiny magnets or something because they do come out easily as far as storing goes. Highly recommended regardless!

5Great product Great customer serviceSep 26, 2008

My son has spent may hours playing with this board and is one of the few things he has never chewed or not taken care of. We actually lost one of the letters many months ago and recently contacted Melissa & Doug, amazingly within the week we had the missing N at no cost.

We have many of their products and if we find a product we like we check the Melissa and Doug website and use them as a preferred manufacturer.

5Awesome alphabet puzzle!Jan 07, 2008
By Mama Jenn
This alphabet puzzle is awesome; I think my kid even likes it, too! The artwork is phenomenal, and the letters' corresponding words aren't too abstract for young minds. I gave the "durability" a less than perfect score only because I'm a little nervous that the puzzle pieces/letters might snap if my toddler steps on them too much; they aren't so thick that they're indestructible. Overall, though, I love this toy! -I've bought it for two kids, so far, and won't hesitate to do so again!

4May Increase Vocabulary!Aug 10, 2007
By History_of_Art_Geek
In our experience, the images have helped to expand my son's vocabulary. We live in the desert, and rarely have the need for an umbrella. I was surprised when my son saw an umbrella for the first time, and connected it to the Alphabet Art Puzzle.

The puzzle encourages thinking, and matching, but I'm not sure it helped to teach the alphabet. In addition, some of the images are too goofy for this age group. For instance, a piece of Rope is shaped into the letter "R," but my 3-year old doesn't associate with such a thing. Another example of this, is the letter "Y" for Yarn. Wouldn't a Yo Yo be a better solution? The raised pieces do offer a new motor challenge from knobs, but they are too shallow for the board. I can't seem to move this puzzle without dropping several pieces on the floor. My son found this frustrating as well.

What's more, I think the age recommendation needs to be adjusted. I purchased the Alphabet Art Puzzle when my son was 2-years and 4-months old. It's recommended for children 3 and up, so I thought it would make a good choice. It didn't challenge him at all, and he's delayed in fine motor skills. The second time he worked it, he completed it in less than 4-minutes by himself. That said, my son has benefited from the puzzle. He likes working it, and continues to ask questions about the pictures.

5LOVE!May 04, 2012

This puzzle is durable, educational and just plain fun! We gave it to our 2 year old for his Birthday. We were amazed how quickly he started saying the letters and putting them in their proper place. It really helps that the same picture that is on the puzzle piece is also on the board where you put the piece. We keep it out on a table almost all of the time. He is learning by leaps and bounds. Our 5 year old enjoys it too. Amazon also sells it at the best price I have found.
