 Perfect first food playset for toddlerMar 06, 2010
I wanted to buy my 18 month old son a set of durable & safe play food for his new little kitchen. This set has been perfect! He loves playing with the different veggie toppings (esp the pickles) and cutting apart the "velcro sandwich." Very durable & show no signs of wear after over a month of daily rough-play.

Like all Melissa and Doug wooden food and kitchen, this Sandwich set is terrific. It was a Christmas gift for my now 21mo old granddaughter who absolutely loves it. The pieces have Velcro on them so they can be stacked into a wooden sandwich. She also loves the birthday cake set. The individual slices of cake, candles, and toppings have Velcro, too. The pieces in both these sets are almost indestructible and stay colorful. It has helped her in both vocabulary development and imaginative play.

My sister recommended getting them something from this brand for xmas because my niece got the cupcake set for her birthday a month before and they played with it constantly. They didn't have the toy she originally wanted so I went with the sandwich kit. I come from a big family so they received around 7 packages of toys that night and they wouldn't stop playing with the sandwich kit even long enough to open the other presents! It's a simple toy but they can't get enough. My niece is 3 and my nephew will be 2 years old in a month. Highly recommend!

This is a wonderful toy to go along with all the kitchen stuff little girls (and boys) like to play with. It is entertaining for parents as well! I just wish we could manufacture great toys like this in the United States. Where have all the toymakers gone?

This set is adorable. My 3 yr. old loves it. High quality wood pieces. The box that it comes in is actually the 'storage' box for it, also made of wood, so you have a place to put all the pieces. I just wish it had a lid to it..
