I searched high and low for Eric Carle toys that go with his books and this one tops the charts. This was purchased for an autistic child who does not show emotions and his eyes lit up upon seeing this and the other Eric Carle toys from Brown Bear to Hungry Caterpillar.

My 3 month old loves this little stuffed critter. I think it's his favorite toy. He loves to grab it and put it in his mouth, maybe because the bright colors interest him, or maybe because the caterpillar's feet are approximately the size of nipples. Either way, I'm glad it is machine washable.

I got this for my friend, because she was feeling down. When she got it, she told me that it was perfect. So if you're getting this for someone who loves the very hungry caterpillar, It's a great choice.
